The House of Sleepyhead introduces a new chapter in sleep

Every great day starts with a good night’s sleep.

For us, that belief began ten years ago in a college dorm room with a worn-out mattress and an idea to make it better.

Over the past decade, we’ve proven that comfort isn’t a luxury. It’s a foundation. From dorm rooms to first apartments, from long nights of studying to early mornings chasing dreams, the Sleepyhead topper became more than a product. It became part of growing up.

Now that story continues. The House of Sleepyhead introduces The Sleepyhead Mattress, First Edition, a new foundation for how we rest, recharge, and live.

It marks a new era for Sleepyhead, one that blends design, function, and feeling into something greater than sleep itself. Like all true originals, it carries the spirit of where we began, reimagined for today.

Crafted for comfort. Refined by experience. Our boldest step yet.

Sleepyhead® Mattress - First Edition FAQs

Mattress Pre-Orders will be ready to ship sometime in late February/early March 2026.

Once your specific mattress is ready to ship, you will receive an email notification. Tracking information will be automatically provided once available.

Once the mattress ships, please allow 2-6 business days for delivery.

The mattress ships compressed, rolled, and vacuum-sealed in a compact box for easy delivery and setup.

Move the box to your desired room before opening. Carefully cut the plastic wrap and unroll the mattress. It will begin expanding immediately and should reach full shape within 24–48 hours.

A mild new-foam scent may occur and will fade quickly.

We want you (and your sleep) to be completely comfortable with your purchase, which is why every Sleepyhead Mattress comes with two warranties: one for the foam and one for the cover. Here’s what each warranty includes and how we can help if something goes wrong.

10-Year Foam Warranty:

The foam is the heart of your mattress, and we’ve got it covered for a full ten years from the date you bought it. If something’s wrong with the foam due to a defect in materials or how it was made, we’ll take care of it. That includes things like:

  • Foam that arrives flat and never fully expands
  • Divots or deep impressions that don’t bounce back
  • Foam that no longer rebounds or feels uneven over time

These aren’t common, but if you notice any of these issues, please reach out to us right away so we can make it right.

Proper Use Requirements: To stay covered under warranty, your mattress must be used on a flat, sturdy, and breathable foundation - such as a platform bed with ventilation gaps, a slatted base with slats spaced no more than 3" apart, or an adjustable base rated for the mattress weight. Traditional box springs should not be used on their own; if used, they must be topped with a slatted bunkie board (slats no more than 3" apart) or other ventilated platform. Queen and larger sizes must include a center support beam or leg to prevent sagging.

Proper ventilation under the mattress is important to prevent trapped moisture and mold. Do not place the mattress directly on the floor or on a completely solid, non-ventilated surface.

What’s not covered:

This warranty doesn’t cover things like oxidation, which is a natural and totally harmless part of how memory foam ages. Oxidation is what happens when foam reacts with oxygen in the air and starts to slightly change color, kind of like when an apple turns brown after being sliced. It doesn’t affect the performance or safety of the mattress at all, and it’s not considered a defect.

It also doesn’t cover damage from pets, accidents, improper use, or anything that results from not following care instructions. This includes issues like mold or mildew growth, which can occur if the mattress is exposed to moisture or not properly aired out or cleaned. Maintaining a dry, well-ventilated environment is key to preventing this kind of damage.

Additionally, rips or tears in the foam that are not present upon delivery or caused by a manufacturing defect are not covered under warranty. Any damage that occurs after unboxing due to handling, improper setup, or daily use falls outside of the warranty terms.

6-Month Fabric Cover Warranty

Your mattress also comes with a 6-month fabric cover warranty for the cover, starting from the date of shipment. We know things can sometimes happen early on, and this short-term warranty is here to help with manufacturing defects like:

  • Dirty or damaged cover (upon arrival)
  • Zippers that break or stop working

If you run into any of those problems, let us know and we’ll make it right.

What’s not covered:
We don’t cover natural wear and tear, or issues that happen because the cover wasn’t cared for properly, like damage from washing it incorrectly. Also, pilling (those small fabric balls that can form on the surface) isn’t covered. Pilling usually happens when the cover rubs against other fabrics, and while it’s common with all kinds of bedding and clothes, it’s not considered a defect.

Need to Make a Claim?

If you discover a defect in your Sleepyhead mattress, head over to Redo to start your claim. You’ll just need to upload:

  • A quick video showing the issue
  • 4 clear photos of the damage
  • A photo of the product’s batch number (located on the tag)
  • Your order number or date of purchase

Once we have everything, we’ll review your claim and follow up as soon as possible. We're here to make the process easy and make sure you’re sleeping soundly again in no time.

Your purchase is worry-free with our 100-night in-home sleep trial.

Since a new mattress takes time to adjust to your body, we ask that you sleep on it for at least 30 nights.

After 30 days, if you're not completely satisfied with your new mattress, you may contact us at any time within 100 nights to arrange for a one-time return.

Yes! In certain states, we’re required to collect a small mattress recycling fee at checkout. This fee helps support responsible recycling through the Mattress Recycling Council (MRC) and ensures that old mattresses are properly reused or recycled.

Here’s a quick breakdown by state:

California: $16 per unit — includes free take-back of your used mattress or box spring when a new one is delivered.
Connecticut: $16 per unit.
Oregon: $22.50 per unit — customers are informed of recycling options, though haul-away isn’t required.
Rhode Island: $20.50 per unit.

These fees are set by each state’s recycling program and go directly toward creating a cleaner, more sustainable sleep future.

Sleepyhead Mattress - First Edition performs best on a flat, sturdy, and breathable foundation that supports it evenly and allows airflow underneath.

It is compatible with:

  • Platform beds or foundations with ventilation gaps that promote airflow and provide consistent support.
  • Slatted frames with slats spaced no more than 3" apart to prevent sagging and maintain comfort.
  • Adjustable bases with open-grid or slatted decks that allow air to circulate around and beneath the base.

For use with a traditional box spring, add a slatted bunkie board or ventilated platform on top for proper support and airflow.

Avoid placing your mattress directly on the floor or on a completely solid surface that blocks airflow.

For queen and larger sizes, use a frame with a center support beam or leg to prevent sagging and extend the life of your mattress.
